About the Opportunity:
Our client is a construction management firm supporting a large public-sector capital improvement program in Los Angeles. They are seeking a Scheduler IV to support scheduling, cost analysis, and project controls activities across complex construction projects.
This role is responsible for coordinating project schedules, reviewing contractor schedules, performing schedule and cost analysis, and supporting project teams with forecasting and reporting. The position works closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure schedule performance aligns with program objectives.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the preparation and development of project schedules based on execution strategies
- Review contractor schedules for contract compliance and quality assurance
- Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) for schedule delays and potential claims
- Evaluate change orders and contract amendments for schedule and cost impact
- Participate in change order negotiations
- Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis
- Identify schedule risks and recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies
- Conduct site visits to support progress reporting and validation
- Review contractor progress schedules and prepare narrative reports for leadership
- Evaluate contractor recovery schedules and provide recommendations
- Perform cost analysis during design and construction phases
- Analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance
- Develop cost-loaded schedules and support cash flow projections
- Prepare reports, charts, and executive-level summaries
- Ensure compliance with program policies, procedures, and contract requirements
Mandatory Requirements:
(Candidates must meet all requirements)
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (additional experience may substitute for education)
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software
- Strong experience with CPM scheduling, schedule analysis, and Time Impact Analysis (TIA)
- Experience with cost analysis, EVM, and cost-loaded scheduling
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, policies, and procedures
- Experience supporting large capital or public-sector projects
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Los Angeles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on public-sector or educational construction programs
- Experience with construction claims and change order analysis
- Experience working across multiple project sites
- Strong experience preparing executive-level reports and presentations
- Knowledge of large capital program delivery environments
