Senior FP&A Analyst
Detroit, MI | Hybrid | Direct Hire

RIM Recruitment is partnering with a respected professional services firm on a confidential search for a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst. This role is ideal for a seasoned FP&A professional who thrives in a data‑driven environment, enjoys complex reporting, and is comfortable serving as a strategic resource across multiple departments.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll play a key role in shaping financial insights and supporting firmwide decision‑making. Responsibilities include:

• Building and refining financial reports, models, and dashboards using advanced Excel and business intelligence tools
• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, including management reporting and financial performance analysis
• Partnering with leadership to deliver ad‑hoc analyses, compensation modeling, and special projects
• Serving as a resource to junior analysts and contributing to team priorities
• Managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Developing deep expertise in the firm’s financial systems and data structure
• Extracting, transforming, and analyzing data using SQL, Power Query, Tableau, or similar tools
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to complete external surveys and reporting requests
• Handling additional finance‑related tasks as needed in a fast‑paced environment

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical strength, analytical curiosity, and polished communication skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive FP&A or financial analysis experience
• Strong command of financial systems, reporting tools, and data extraction
• Advanced Excel capabilities (Power Query, pivot tables, macros, complex formulas, data modeling)
• Experience writing or working with SQL queries and BI tools
• Background in professional services or partnership‑based environments is a plus
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise insights for non‑financial stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership
• CPA is beneficial but not required
• Flexibility to work extended hours during peak reporting periods
