Payroll Accountant

RIM Recruitment is supporting a well‑established professional services organization in identifying an experienced Partner Payroll Accountant for their Cincinnati office. This is a specialized payroll role focused on high‑level compensation work, financial accuracy, and consistent support for a busy leadership group.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys detailed payroll processes, thrives in a deadline‑driven environment, and brings strong technical skills within ADP or similar payroll systems.
About the Role
This position plays a key role in managing compensation activity for senior‑level professionals. The work includes a blend of payroll processing, compensation calculations, reporting, and ongoing coordination with internal stakeholders. You’ll handle recurring semi‑monthly payroll cycles, maintain accurate records, and support the accounting team with reconciliations and reporting.
What You’ll Do
- Manage payroll updates related to new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions, and other employee data
- Prepare and distribute semi‑monthly compensation statements and expense summaries
- Build and maintain Excel files used to calculate partner‑level compensation, deductions, and adjustments
- Generate upload files and ensure accurate processing within ADP or comparable payroll software
- Maintain logs, reconciliations, and documentation tied to partner and exempt‑level payroll
- Review payroll for accuracy and coordinate funding requests with the accounting team
- Assist with journal entries, payroll reporting, and audit‑related tasks
- Serve as the primary contact for written employment verifications
- Support leadership with special projects, reporting, and compensation‑related analysis
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of payroll experience, ideally within a professional services or multi‑layered compensation environment
- Hands‑on experience with ADP, Paycor, Ultipro, or similar payroll systems (ADP strongly preferred)
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with formulas, templates, and structured data
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a responsive, service‑oriented approach
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
