Senior Engineering Project Manager – Water / Wastewater
Dallas, TX

Our client in Dallas is adding a Senior Engineering Project Manager to their growing Water/Wastewater practice. This is a leadership role focused on facilities and treatment plant work, with exposure across planning, design, permitting, and construction support for municipal and institutional clients.
This team is busy, well-established, and delivering high-impact infrastructure projects that directly serve communities across the region.
This role leads multidisciplinary water and wastewater projects, with responsibility spanning both technical execution and project leadership.
Project Leadership & Execution
Plan, design, and manage water/wastewater projects including collection, distribution, and treatment facilities
Define project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and billing milestones after award
Manage projects through design, permitting, and construction support
Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to control scope, schedule, and budget
Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining quality and fiscal performance
Oversee QA/QC reviews at appropriate project milestones
Track accounts receivable and ensure timely invoicing and payment
Technical Oversight
Perform or oversee technical design and hydraulic modeling
Lead or support water and wastewater treatment facility design
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and submit documents for approvals and permits
Provide guidance to engineers, EITs, designers, and subconsultants
Team & Client Leadership
Build and lead high-performing project teams
Mentor engineers and support professional development
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Lead project progress meetings and maintain strong contractor–client communication
Support proposals, SOQs, and contract negotiations
Maintain long-term client relationships and support repeat work

Conveyance (secondary to facilities)
Engineering Project Managers with strong water/W/WW backgrounds
Environmental Engineers with deep process / treatment expertise
The Dallas team focuses heavily on treatment plants and facilities.
Conveyance/pipeline experience is welcomed but not the primary focus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline (ABET-accredited)
PE license required (Texas)
Typically 8–12+ years of water/wastewater experience
Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
Strong client-facing communication skills
Excellent technical writing and reporting ability
Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage projects independently
Ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
