Litigation Legal Assistant
West Palm Beach, FL | Direct Hire | Hybrid
We are partnering with a respected, well‑established law firm in West Palm Beach to identify an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant. This full‑time role supports a busy team of attorneys and paralegals and requires a professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of litigation support experience, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive administrative support to litigation attorneys and paralegals; assist other practice groups as needed
- Deliver outstanding client service when greeting visitors, managing calls, scheduling meetings, and responding to internal requests
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
- Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents in accordance with firm standards
- File documents electronically with state and federal courts
- Draft routine filings and assist with document preparation
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely follow‑through on all tasks
- Interact professionally with court personnel, attorneys, and staff to obtain information and resolve issues
- Manage client contacts, emails, physical files, and incoming/outgoing mail
- Process reimbursements, payment requests, and other administrative tasks
- Transcribe dictation and support attorneys with time entry and related tasks
- Create, maintain, and retire files in accordance with firm policies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm or legal environment
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and court operations
- Ability to read and identify pleadings and other litigation‑related documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Experience with legal software such as Kofax/Nuance, InTapp, LMS+, iManage, BigHand, or comparable systems preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a deadline‑driven environment
- Ability to apply sound judgment, follow instructions, and resolve problems independently
- Comfortable working occasional overtime when needed
Education
- High school diploma required
- Additional education or legal coursework preferred
