About the Opportunity:
Our client is a construction management firm supporting a large K-12 capital improvement and facilities modernization program in Los Angeles. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide senior-level leadership across complex, high-value public-sector construction projects. This role provides oversight and direction across multiple active projects, including schedule, cost control, contract administration, dispute resolution, and team leadership. The Senior Project Manager works closely with owner representatives, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery within a highly regulated public-sector environment. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role within a large institutional capital program.
Key Responsibilities:
Resolve complex construction project issues, disputes, and disagreements
Provide functional oversight and performance management of Owner’s Authorized Representatives (OARs)
Review overall project progress relative to approved construction schedules
Review and assess change orders and evaluate impacts to scope, cost, and schedule
Support bid strategy, procurement planning, and contract administration
Review and monitor project cost control and scheduling reports
Review and verify contractor and consultant applications for payment
Oversee administration of contracts for architects, engineers, and consultants
Coordinate program activities with internal departments and external agencies
Participate in dispute resolution and recommend corrective actions
Develop and recommend internal policies, procedures, and best practices
Perform other related senior project management duties as required
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Experience
Minimum 17 years of full-time professional project and/or construction management experience
Minimum 5 years managing large programs with individual projects exceeding $50M in construction value (not cumulative)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in educational facility construction, public works, or large commercial projects (experience may include projects located outside of California)
Education / Credentials
(Must meet one of the following)
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, OR
Bachelor’s degree in another discipline plus a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential, OR
Active CCM credential with demonstrated equivalent professional experience, OR
Equivalent combination of education and professional experience as accepted by the client
Availability
Ability to work on-site full time in Los Angeles
Preferred Qualifications (Not mandatory):
Design-Build project experience
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Experience with LEED and/or CHPS projects
Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) processes
California Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, or CCM credential
Required Skills:

Oversight of multi-project teams and owner representatives
