Logistics/Documentation Specialist (Onsite)- Oakland, CA
Our client is an employee owned importer of fresh produce that has over 80 years of history. We are seeking a stellar logics professional to support their team. This role comes with an excellent bonus structure and benefits package!
This role requires an onsite presence Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm in Oakland, CA.
Overview:
The Logistics / Documentation Specialist coordinates domestic and international shipments, manages documentation, and supports smooth end-to-end logistics operations. This role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and accurate recordkeeping in collaboration with vendors, freight forwarders, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and monitor all shipment logistics from booking to delivery.
Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely transit.
Prepare and process shipping documentation (e.g., Export Declarations, Bills of Lading).
Track and manage couriered document packages to meet customer requirements.
Maintain accurate shipment data and resolve discrepancies with accounting as needed.
Support claims processing and provide backup assistance for team members.
Stay current on freight rates, schedules, and logistics best practices.
Qualifications:
Experience in logistics, shipping, or documentation coordination preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office and logistics/shipping software.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
