Inside Technical Sales Engineer – Industrial Automation
A national leader in industrial automation is seeking a driven Inside Sales Engineer to join its Direct Marketing Team, focusing on mid-sized and OEM clients with project values up to $50K.
Role Overview:
Use AI-powered tools and prospect lists to identify and call high-potential leads across the USA.
Drive opportunity creation and closure.
Coordinate technical discovery meetings with prospects via Microsoft Teams and outbound calls.
Collaborate with technical engineering teams to craft tailored solutions for client needs.
Hybrid schedule: 4 days in-office, 1 day remote after 3–6 months initial training.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (engineering, computer science, mechanical/electrical/chemical).
3–5 years’ experience in sales engineering or technical sales (industrial automation, PLC/sensor space ideal).
Proven ability to generate opportunities and meet sales discovery targets.
Strong technical acumen and communication skills.
Proficiency with CRM platforms and AI-engagement tools.
Excellent listening and relationship-building skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Success Factors:
Consistently meet weekly KPIs: 1–2 new opportunities per week or 20+ calls resulting in opportunities.
Deliver effective technical discovery meetings and collaborate cross-functionally.
Stay updated on industry trends and technical solutions.
