Senior Financial Analyst

Role overview

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with 5+ years of progressive experience who can translate complex financial data into clear, persuasive narratives that inform strategy and drive action across the organization. This role combines deep financial modeling and analysis with excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills to “tell the story” behind the numbers for senior leaders, product teams, and crossfunctional partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis & Modeling
  • Build, maintain, and validate robust financial models (forecasting, scenario analysis, unit economics, DCF, pricing, and ROI) to support strategic decisions.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc variance and trend analyses that identify root causes and actionable insights.
  • Storytelling & Communication
  • Convert analysis into concise narratives, slide decks, dashboards, and executive summaries that answer “what happened,” “why it happened,” and “what we should do next.”
  • Tailor communication to audiences (CFO, CEO, product, ops, sales) using appropriate level of detail, visuals, and recommended actions.
  • Planning & Forecasting
  • Lead parts of the annual budget and rolling forecast process; recommend assumptions, drivers, and scenario responses.
  • Coordinate crossfunctional inputs to ensure forecasts reflect operational realities.
  • Performance Management
  • Define, track, and interpret key financial and operational KPIs; build automated reports and dashboards that surface leading indicators.
  • Provide rigorous financial analysis for capital allocation, new product launches, pricing changes, costsavings initiatives, and strategic investments.
  • Identify and implement efficiency gains in reporting, forecasting, and data collection through tools, templates, and automation.
  • Act as a trusted business partner across finance and nonfinance teams.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance
  • Technical: Advanced Excel; experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive, Hyperion) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Modeling: Strong track record building endtoend financial models and scenario analysis.
  • Storytelling: Demonstrated ability to craft executivelevel narratives from data; experienced presenter to senior leadership.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills; able to simplify complexity and recommend clear next steps.
  • Business acumen: Experience partnering with product, sales, operations, and marketing teams to influence outcomes.
  • Attention to detail: Strong validation, reconciliation, and documentation habits.
  • Education/certification: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus.
