Job Title: Originating Branch Manager
Location: Pennsylvania
Position Type: Permanent
Purpose of Position: Responsible for supervising their own branch and originating loans.
Accountabilities and Job Activities:
- Establish and maintain client referral relationships with Realtors, builders, and developers; make sales calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business.
- Recruit and hire Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) for the branch; motivate staff to achieve maximum production levels.
- Train and oversee branch staff relative to proper techniques and standards, with appropriate follow-through.
- Monitor the quality of loans originated by MLOs; ensure compliance with company policy guidelines. Monitor MLO compensation plans and maintain balance with production.
- Manage overall customer interaction and interface with all parties involved in each loan, from application to closing. Responsibilities include counseling and pre-qualifying potential home buyers, taking complete and accurate applications, obtaining necessary support documents and appropriate fee and lock-in information, overseeing the loan process, assisting in document collection, communicating loan status, and obtaining loan documentation post-closing.
- Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a Mortgage Loan Originator license.
- Thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies.
- Working knowledge of credit underwriting and property eligibility requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
- Familiarity with local, state, and national laws (e.g., zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze financial information.
- Sales-oriented self-starter.
