Field Support Technician (Electrical)

About the Role
Are you an experienced electrical technician who enjoys hands-on work, travel, and problem-solving?
We’re seeking a Field Support Technician (Electrical) to support major equipment and systems across the United States — and occasionally abroad. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise with travel and career growth.
You’ll typically work on an 8 days travel / 2 days remote or from home rotation, with all travel expenses fully covered.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to project sites across the U.S. (and occasionally internationally).
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems — including switchboards, generators, automation systems, and drive systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks, calibrations, and system testing using manuals and electronic testing equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate data transfer and system performance.
- Install and commission electrical systems and controls (PLCs, switchboards, drive systems, Ethernet communications, and more).
- Train crew members on electrical safety, maintenance, and operational best practices.
- Provide on-call support during off-hours when needed.
- Follow all safety and compliance procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Training/Certification: Electrical certification or technical/military training preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Marine or heavy industrial experience is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and process diagrams.
- A self-starter who can work independently and take initiative in the field.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel 100% (domestic and occasional international).
