Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Trust Accountant to manage and oversee all trust accounting functions in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity of client trust accounts and maintaining accurate financial records for the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain client trust accounts in accordance with state bar regulations and firm policies.
Monitor and record all trust transactions, including deposits, disbursements, wires and transfers.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of trust balances to attorneys and clients.
Review monthly trust account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure proper handling of client funds.
Assist with audits and regulatory reviews related to trust accounts.
Maintain compliance with IOLTA (Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts) requirements.
Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Support general accounting functions as required.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field, a minimum of 3 years of experience in trust accounting, preferably in a legal environment and experience with Legal specific software such as Elite or Aderant.
