Position: Sr. Financial Analyst TEMP TO PERM
Location: Remote, SLC

A fast-growing bio-technology company located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our products allow researchers to identify potential targets early in the drug discovery process where risks and costs can be significantly mitigated.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated accounting professional to join our team. This role is responsible for full-cycle Accounts Receivable and a wide range of general accounting functions, including revenue recognition, accruals, reconciliations, tax compliance, payroll accounting, cash forecasting, and financial modeling. The position also supports financial planning, audits, insurance renewals, and equity administration, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a solid foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, along with experience managing large data sets and ERP systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for full cycle AR including billing, collections, credits, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and journals entries for deferred revenue, payroll accounts, sales tax liabilities, AR, bonus accruals, commission accruals, and accrued assets.
  • Validate revenue recognition based on terms of customer PO’s (discounts, unique shipping terms, etc.)
  • Calculate and issue late fee invoices, send collections emails and follow up on past due invoices.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis as needed
  • Calculate, file, and pay sales, use and property tax for various states
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and payroll journal entries for both domestic and international employees
  • Assist with forecasts and annual budget process
  • Prepare financial models for decision making as needed
  • Prepare and update daily cash forecast on a weekly basis
  • Enter and issue equity grants as directed by the board on a quarterly basis
  • Track and calculate commissions to be paid
  • Enter wires for international payroll payments on a monthly basis
  • Complete Census questionnaires
  • Complete annual insurance renewal
  • Cross-train on other accounting functions
  • Research and implement processes in accordance with GAAP
  • Deposit physical checks on an as needed basis
  • Assist in Audits, acting as liaison for external auditors by providing requested documentation

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and required statements and supporting ledgers
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data efficiently and effectively resulting in recommendations for course of action
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – excel, word, outlook
  • Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree with accounting concentration required, CPA preferred
  • 4 years experience of related experience required
  • ERP experience with a thorough understanding of process-to-system concepts
