About the Opportunity
Our client, a rapidly growing tax advisory firm, is looking to hire a Tax Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned CPA or EA who is passionate about helping small business owners proactively manage and optimize their tax strategies throughout the year.

Responsibilities
The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing strategic tax planning, client relationships, and team development. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Leading tax strategy and planning engagements for a portfolio of small business clients
- Reviewing tax returns and planning documents for compliance, accuracy, and added value
- Managing workflow and deadlines across multiple client accounts
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting junior team members, including staff accountants and tax strategists
- Serving as the point of contact for high-value client relationships
- Collaborating with leadership to improve systems, tools, and operational processes
- Staying current on tax law developments and advising on their impact
- Fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture
Qualifications
The following are the minimum requirements to be considered for this role:
- Active CPA or EA designation
- 6+ years of progressive experience in tax strategy, planning, and compliance
- 2+ years of leadership or managerial experience in a tax-focused environment
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver proactive advisory services
- Strong knowledge of S-Corps, LLCs, and small business tax structures
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in cloud-based tax and accounting tools
- A strategic mindset with a practical, hands-on approach
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-growth or entrepreneurial firm
- Prior experience managing distributed or remote teams
- Familiarity with multi-state tax issues or compliance
- Background in process improvement or systems implementation
- Experience supporting clients in professional services (legal, real estate, consulting, etc.)
