About the Role:
Our client, a well-established construction management firm specializing in public infrastructure programs, is seeking a Constructability Review Specialist – General to support a major educational facilities modernization initiative. This role focuses on preconstruction activities aimed at improving buildability, minimizing change orders, and ensuring comprehensive coordination of design documents.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Los Angeles. The selected candidate will work closely with Owner Representatives, Design Managers, and technical consultants in a collaborative and fast-paced public-sector environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in defining project scope, schedule, and temporary housing needs
- Provide value engineering and constructability input during early design stages
- Perform in-depth review of design documents to identify coordination gaps, ambiguities, and potential construction challenges
- Review and analyze architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for alignment and constructability
- Provide detailed feedback to Design Managers and Owners on pre-bid document completeness
- Reduce the risk of change orders and delays by surfacing constructability issues early
- Support the development of Requests for Clarification (RFCs), submittal reviews, and change order management as needed
- Perform additional related duties as required
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications
(Candidates must meet one of the following profiles):
Option 1 – Architecture Background:

Option 3 – Education + Experience Combination:
- At least 2 years of coursework from an accredited college, university, or trade school
- Plus 5 additional years of relevant experience beyond the requirements above
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- Proficient in evaluating construction documents for clarity, coordination, and feasibility
- Strong knowledge of construction administration processes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and Bluebeam
- Ability to work efficiently and decisively under pressure
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $200,000/year
- Benefits Package: Valued at approximately $40,000/year
- Total Compensation: Approx. $240,000/year
