About the Role:

Our client, a well-established consulting firm supporting large-scale public sector capital improvement programs, is seeking two (2) experienced Site Assessment Project Managers for a long-term environmental and remediation program. The successful candidates will support oversight of environmental site assessments, contractor management, and technical reviews in alignment with state and federal environmental regulations.

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Los Angeles and requires hands-on experience with environmental investigations, remediation efforts, and regulatory agency coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and coordinate work conducted by environmental site assessment contractors in areas such as:

    • Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
    • Soils Disposition Evaluations (Specification 01 4524)
    • Soils Evaluations per SCAQMD Rule 1466
    • Health and Safety Risk Assessments
    • Preliminary Environmental Assessments
    • Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies
    • Public Participation Plans
    • Removal Action Workplans/Remedial Action Plans
    • PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyl) survey and mitigation

  • Assist in contract development and oversight of remediation contractors
  • Establish and manage project budgets, contracts, and schedules for site investigations and remediation efforts
  • Provide technical guidance to internal management on contractor oversight, budget control, and schedule performance
  • Coordinate environmental review processes with design, construction, emergency response, waste disposal, and demolition requirements of broader facilities projects

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of full-time, paid professional experience managing environmental investigations and remediation projects

    • Must include experience under the direction of regulatory agencies such as the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), or similar

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • Site investigation and remediation strategies
    • DTSC, RWQCB, and SCAQMD protocols
    • Local, state, and federal environmental regulations

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university

    • Preferred fields: Geology, Engineering, or related disciplines


Preferred Certification:

  • California Professional Registration such as:

    • Certified Hydrogeologist
    • Professional Engineer (P.E.)
    • Professional Geologist

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $150,000/year
  • Benefits Package Value: $32,000/year
  • Total Compensation: Approximately $182,000/year
