Job Description

Position: Cost Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on cost accounting data to support effective financial decision-making. Responsibilities include preparing standard cost reports, monitoring inventory and variances, analyzing product costing, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze cost structures and pricing strategies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved profitability.
• Prepare standard cost reports and product cost analyses.
• Monitor inventory levels and assess cost variances.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Record journal entries and ensure proper allocation of direct labor, overhead, and manufacturing-related costs.
• Support internal audits and maintain compliance with financial regulations and policies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Jet Reports, Excel).
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial data to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Strong mathematical and statistical aptitude.
• Experience working with large datasets and performing in-depth financial analysis.
