Senior Associate Attorney – Bankruptcy & Business Restructuring

Job Description
My client, a growing boutique law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney with expertise in bankruptcy, tax, and business debt restructuring. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with firm leadership and make a meaningful impact for business owners and farmers facing financial distress.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases

• Advise on debt restructuring, asset protection, and tax strategy

• Appear in court, handle mediations, depositions, and negotiations

• Collaborate with internal staff to develop and implement legal strategies

• Conduct case evaluations and client consultations

• Maintain communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Licensed in Iowa or willing to obtain licensure promptly (IL license also considered)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in bankruptcy law and debt restructuring

• Strong understanding of tax law and commercial litigation

• Experience with agricultural clients a plus

• Excellent communication and time-management skills
