Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer / Surveyor specializing in Land Development to join our dynamic team at our Colorado Springs office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure. This role requires a thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles, survey methods, and land development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct topographic and boundary surveys using advanced survey equipment and techniques.
- Develop site plans, grading plans, and utility designs using CAD software.
- Perform land development design, including stormwater management, roadway design, and erosion control.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and public agencies on project development and compliance.
- Perform field inspections and ensure projects are completed in accordance with engineering standards and local regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and surveyors.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data collection and analysis.
- Ensure all projects adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the state of Colorado. (Would consider E.I.Ts)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering and land development.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other industry-standard software.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to land development.
- Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other CAD software.
- Expertise in topographic and boundary survey techniques.
- Strong knowledge of stormwater management, roadway design, and grading.
- Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
