Position Overview:
Our client in the non profit sector is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Finance-Programs team, reporting to the Finance Manager, Programs. This role plays a key part in providing financial oversight and support throughout the lifecycle of various projects—from pre-award evaluation to post-award monitoring.
The SFA will work closely with internal teams, including Programs, Social Finance, and Corporate Finance, as well as external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. This is a one year contract position with possibility to convert to a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
- Conduct due diligence assessments to evaluate an organization's financial capacity to manage project funding.
- Review and approve budgets for funded initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial guidelines.
- Assess and approve financial reports from funding recipients, making recommendations for disbursements.
- Assist in resolving complex financial matters in collaboration with various teams.
- Support overall program budgeting and financial planning efforts.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; completion or near-completion of a CPA (or equivalent designation) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, ideally within grant management, non-profits, or auditing.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and engage with funding partners.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and writing skills to convey financial information effectively.
