Job Title: Electrical Package Engineer

Location: Houston, TX
Duration: Initial 6-month contract (starting April 2025) with a possible 3-month extension

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Package Engineer to join our project team working on a cryogenic pipelines solution for the LNG industry. The project involves the installation of an Electrical Heat Tracing (EHT) system to prevent adjacent soil from freezing. The Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that the subcontractor’s engineered solution meets regulatory and client requirements and is technically sound.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong expertise in electrical engineering, particularly in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, with a focus on EHT systems. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Engineering Manager and subcontractors to drive the successful delivery of the project.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the electrical engineering scope of the EHT system to ensure it meets all regulatory and client requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all electrical-related activities, working closely with the Project Engineering Manager and subcontractor.
  • Participate in regular follow-up and technical meetings with the subcontractor and visit their facilities when needed.
  • Review and approve subcontractor documentation, including but not limited to:
    • General Arrangement Drawings
    • Interconnection Block and Wiring Diagrams
    • Control and Safety System Description and Functional Analysis
    • Electrical Design Calculations
    • Electrical and Instrument Datasheets (cables, sensors, junction boxes, control panels, transformers, switchgears)
    • Electrical Load List, Instrument and I/O List, Spare Parts List
    • Manufacturing Inspection Test Plan
    • FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and Testing Procedures
    • Installation, Startup, and Maintenance Procedures
  • Ensure compliance with US electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70.
  • Manage electrical installation and commissioning activities, including inspection, troubleshooting, and release phases.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions to resolve electrical design and manufacturing issues.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Proven experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
  • Experience as a Package Engineer with a focus on subcontractor management.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical Heat Tracing (EHT) systems.
  • Experience with Skin-effect Tracing System (STS) technology is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the design and manufacturing of LV transformers and power and control panels.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation and commissioning activities.
  • Excellent knowledge of US electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in English required; French language skills are a plus.
