Position Overview:
Our client, a reputable Real Estate Developer is seeking a detail-oriented professional to oversee financial management and reporting for a portfolio of real estate development projects. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes while supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project financials, providing recommendations on funding strategies, distributions, and financing options.
- Review and authorize payments, invoices, journal entries, remittances, and lot sale transactions.
- Analyze trial balances and cost reports on a monthly basis.
- Maintain tracking schedules for reporting and financial analysis.
- Collaborate with financial analysts to assess proforma budgets, cash flow forecasts, and budget variances.
- Prepare bank reporting packages and generate financing draw requests.
- Interpret legal agreements related to joint ventures and fee structures to assess financial impact.
- Assist with year-end financial statements, working papers, and interim reporting for select projects.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to documenting financial procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education in Finance, Accounting or related Field
- Pursuing an accounting designation is an asset
- Minimum 3 years of experience ideally in the Real state or Construction industries
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Capacity to manage workload fluctuations, including occasional overtime.
