TITLE: Strategic Business Development Manager
LOCATION: Canada (Toronto or Montreal preferred) – Remote/Hybrid with periodic travel
WORK TYPE: Remote/Hybrid (with travel to conferences and international HQ)
COMPENSATION:  $120 – 150K + bonus.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our client, a leader in regulatory compliance and content verification technology, is expanding into the FMCG/CPG sector. They are seeking an experienced Strategic Business Development Manager to spearhead market entry and drive revenue growth. This role will be instrumental in positioning their software as an industry standard for packaging, labeling, and artwork compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a go-to-market strategy to drive adoption of compliance software within FMCG/CPG brands.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers in packaging, labeling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Secure early adopter clients to establish credibility and expand market presence.
  • Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to refine positioning and tailor solutions for the FMCG industry.
  • Maintain a strong network of industry professionals and leverage connections to accelerate sales cycles.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events to build brand awareness and generate leads.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years in business development, sales, or go-to-market strategy, preferably in B2B SaaS, compliance, or regulatory technology.
  • Demonstrated success in selling to FMCG/CPG companies, particularly in packaging, labeling, or compliance solutions.
  • Strong strategic mindset with experience in market expansion and partnership development.
  • Technical sales experience, including the ability to communicate complex solutions to regulatory and operational teams.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-driven, capable of working independently to drive results.
  • CRM proficiency (HubSpot or similar) and ability to manage sales pipelines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Remote/Hybrid role, ideally based in Toronto or Montreal.
  • Travel: 5–6 business trips per year for conferences, client visits, and team meetings.
  • Annual international trip to company headquarters for strategic planning and collaboration.
