POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: VP of Manufacturing

Reports to: President/CEO Date: 01/16/2025

Principal Function:

  • Oversees day-to-day shop operations of commercial architectural millwork and casework company
  • Plans and manages projects produced
  • Assure projects are scheduled and delivered on time and budget
  • Continuous improvement activities to increase productivity and profitability of company
  • Quality Assurance of products produced
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be fluent in reading of architectural drawings
  • Must comply with Employee Handbook and Safety Manual

Organization:

  • Assist the President/CEO & Operations Manager in providing leadership to the various shop departments
  • Works closely with the shop staff
  • The relationship among the staff is to be one of mutual respect and trust, working together as a team
  • Be a good steward with the budget

Requirements:

  • 5 Years + experience in woodworking
  • Must be familiar with LEED, FSC, AWI, AWI QCP, SEFA standards

Scope of work:

  • Full time, on-site; No remote work is available for this position

Compensation:

  • Salary is determined by President/CEO based on experience, education and/or licensing

Specific Responsibilities:

  • General o Develop shop policies by evaluating and enforcing policies for products o Oversee OSHA regulations & assure compliance o Oversee Safety of the shop o Troubleshoot manufacturing issues o Maintain Production Schedule o Works in conjunction with Operations Manager & Shop Foreman to ensure projects are progressing o Conducts Safety Inspections as required o Conducts Safety Meetings as required o Oversee mockups, if needed o Oversee maintenance & repairs of machines
  • Human Resources Department o Track staffing requirements o Coordination of recruiting, hiring & training with Operations Manager as needed o Scheduling counseling of shop employees o Disciplining of shop employees
  • Project Management Department o Coordination with PM’s regarding production of projects o Coordination with APM’s regarding samples
  • Purchasing Department o Coordination with Operations Manager regarding material inventory and purchases o Oversees Shipping & Receiving o Coordination with Operations Manager in identifying long lead items
  • Installation Department o Scheduling of deliveries, temporary labor and equipment rental o Oversee shortage/breakage/WO requirements
