Position Overview:
Seeking a skilled Systems Engineer - Safety with 5+ years of experience in aerospace/defense system safety analysis. Expertise in safety assessments, reliability engineering, and compliance with industry standards required.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform System Safety Analysis, including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes Effects (and Criticality) Analysis (FMEA/FMECA).
Develop and maintain Safety Assessment Reports, program plans, and procedures.
Apply Reliability Engineering principles (Markov analysis, Weibull analysis, reliability predictions).
Evaluate airborne electronic hardware and software for aerospace systems.
Conduct maintainability assessments and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
Investigate failures and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate on gas turbine engine safety, including turbomachinery failure modes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
5+ years in system safety engineering (aerospace, defense, or related industries).
Proficiency in MIL-STD-882, SAE ARP4761, MIL-STD-1629, and SAE ARP4754.
Experience with electro-mechanical systems and gas turbine engines.
Strong knowledge of reliability allocations, predictions, and maintainability procedures.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools.
U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain Security Clearance if needed.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with ASTM F3230, SAE ARP5580, or DI-SAFT-80102/DI-SESS-81495.
Understanding of turbomachinery failure modes and manufacturing techniques.
Experience creating technical work instructions.
