Job Description

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Source Integration & Metadata Management Specialist for a 4 month contract with its Canada-based customer.

Work Location

This is a remote position. The successful candidate must work Eastern Time hours.

Key Tasks

• Integrate Azure and on-premises data sources with Microsoft Purview
• Configure and maintain source system registrations and connectivity
• Establish and optimize Purview scanning, including scan scopes and incremental and scheduled metadata scans
• Troubleshoot metadata ingestion and source connectivity issues
• Design and establish Purview Dev, UAT, and Production environments, including root collections, hierarchies, security, and access controls
• Manage configuration migration and promotion between environments
• Validate metadata ingestion completeness and accuracy, and perform metadata mapping between source systems and business metadata
• Establish metadata standards, naming conventions, and taxonomy structures
• Implement and manage classifications, glossary terms, tags, and business metadata attributes
• Conduct lineage validation and metadata completeness assessments
• Support business term lifecycle management, stewardship workflows, and onboarding of critical data assets
• Develop implementation documentation, configuration guides, and operational procedures
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and provide monthly status reports

Key Qualifications

• Prior experience integrating source data into Microsoft Purview
• Understanding of data governance concepts
• Familiarity with data governance technology infrastructure and architecture

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience implementing and administering Microsoft Purview, including Data Map, Data Catalog, Business Glossary, and Lineage
• Strong expertise in Azure and on-premises data source integration and native Purview connectors
• Proven experience managing Purview environments, collections, and scanning configurations, and promoting them across Dev, UAT, and Production
• Advanced knowledge of metadata management, taxonomy development, classifications, cataloging, and business glossary management
• Experience implementing and validating data lineage, metadata mapping, data traceability, and governance controls
• Strong understanding of data stewardship, metadata standards, and enterprise data management best practices
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, documentation, and communication skills across business, IT, architecture, and data governance teams

Compensation

Hourly Rate Negotiable. This is an existing position vacancy.
