About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Risk Analyst III to join a Counterparty Risk Analytics team within a leading financial services organization.
The successful candidate will primarily focus on the investigation, analysis, reporting and monitoring of counterparty credit risk exposures, ensuring exposures remain within established credit limits.
This role supports global trading activities and requires strong knowledge of Capital Markets, financial products, derivatives, bonds and counterparty credit risk.
The Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across Credit Risk Management, Global Markets, Market Risk, Front Office, Technology, Operations, Audit and Change Delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate counterparty credit risk exceptions and excesses at the facility level and escalate issues as required
- Analyze, monitor and report risk exposures against established counterparty credit limits
- Produce accurate and complete exposure reporting within established reporting timelines
- Ensure portfolio risks are correctly measured, aggregated and analyzed
- Investigate risk exposure discrepancies and production issues
- Monitor violations and ensure issues are appropriately documented and escalated
- Identify and investigate late or missing reports and ensure appropriate explanations and documentation are maintained
- Execute infrastructure changes associated with new or revised credit facilities
- Support implementation of new or revised risk policies and processes
- Perform impact assessments, requirements gathering and testing for projects and system changes
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of specific exposures, transactions and risk metrics
- Maintain appropriate internal controls and documentation in accordance with governance standards
- Assess the quality and accuracy of risk outputs
- Support operational risk activities including documentation, cross-training and audit requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiencies
- Work closely with Front Office, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Technology, Operations and Audit stakeholders
- Maintain an understanding of the analytical principles underlying the risk management of financial derivatives
Must-Have Qualifications
- 57 years of relevant experience
- Strong investigation and analytical experience within a financial or risk environment
- Strong knowledge of Counterparty Credit Risk
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets
- Knowledge of financial products, particularly:
- Experience working with complex financial or vendor systems
- Experience performing impact assessments
- Experience gathering and documenting business or system requirements
- Experience performing testing for projects or system changes
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze complex risk issues
- Ability to work with large amounts of information and identify discrepancies or exceptions
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Risk Management or Counterparty Credit Risk function
- Experience within a banking, Capital Markets or large financial services environment
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline
- Postgraduate education is an asset
- CFA or FRM designation is preferred but not mandatory
- Working knowledge of technical tools such as:
- SQL
- VBA
- Python
- Artificial Intelligence tools

Team & Work Environment
You will join a collaborative team of approximately five professionals supporting Counterparty Risk Analytics within a large financial services environment.
The role involves regular interaction with internal stakeholders across business, technology, operations, risk and Capital Markets, with approximately 30 minutes to one hour of meetings on a typical day.
The initial training period is expected to be approximately 23 weeks.
Performance will be measured against established service levels, production delivery timelines, quality and accuracy of work, and effective management of escalations.
