  • Start: Immediately
  • Long Term Maintenance Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off
  • Turnaround Schedule  11 days on 3 days off  (ends August 2025)
  • Accommodations: Camp accommodation provided 

 Job Description Summary 

Stuart Olson is searching for Journeyperson Insulators to join us immediately at a client site in the Fort McMurray area.   This job provides the opportunity  to be a part of a union to earn above average pay that includes travel allowance and overtime.

 Responsibilities 

  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements. 
  • Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation according to the type and shape of the surface, whether, or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for. 
  • Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimensions. 
  • Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings. 
  • Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, plastic or cement. 
  • Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents. 
  • Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required. 
  • Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed. 

 Qualifications 

  • Journeyperson Insulators  Will be required to provide proof of hours or Trade Level Certificate
  • Valid government issued Photo ID 
  • Valid transportation
  • Driver Abstract will be required upon hire 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience 
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction 
  • A team player with strong people skills

  • CS0
  • Energy Safety Canada 
  • ESC H2S Alive  
  • ESC Fall Protection 

Working Conditions 

  • Willing to become a member of Local 110
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions; at heights, confined spaces; in and around noise and dust 
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance 
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time 
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects 
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects 
  • Must be clean shaven 
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
