Stuart Olson is searching for Journeyperson Instrumentation Mechanic to join us for a short-term maintenance project at our Client site in Red Deer. Responsibilities
- Test troubleshoot and repair transmitters, switches, control valves.
- Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
- Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
- Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
- Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
- Repair faulty equipment or systems.
- Understand and practice company policies and procedures.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certified Journeyperson Instrumentation Mechanic
- Industrial construction experience on a petro chemical facility
- Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
- Positive attitude towards safety
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Superior focus on customer satisfaction
- Valid driver’s license
Required Safety Tickets
- CSTS-20
- Fall Arrest an asset
- Confined Space an asset
- Aerial Work Platform an asset
Working Conditions
- Compliance to site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
- CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
- Working in and around noise and dust; both indoors, outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders regularly, stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25kg
- Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
