Job Description

Our Offer to You: 

  • Site: Joffre  Alberta 
  • Schedule: 4 days on 3 days off
  • Turnaround Schedule 6 days on 1 day off
  • Start:  Immediately  - work is for 3 to 5 weeks

Stuart Olson is searching for certified Electricians  to join us for  project  and turnaround work in  Joffre, Alberta.  

Responsibilities 

  • Plan new or modify installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. 
  • Trouble shoot electrical equipment, including 120V-5kV circuitry, control systems, HVAC systems, cathodic protection, electrical and pulling electrical cable 
  • Energize and de-energize breakers and VFD’s 
  • Transformer monitoring and maintenance dry and oil bath types 
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems 
  • Understand and practice company policies and procedures 
  • Actively participate in our health and safety program 
  • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor 

Qualifications 

  • Certified Journeyman Electrician 
  • Driver's License or valid government-issued photo ID 
  • Completion of client mandatory site training requirements, ESC Permits, Isolations and Lockouts 
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities 
  • Positive attitude towards safety 
  • Ability to work collaboratively 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills 

Required Safety Tickets 

  • CSTS-20 
    First Aid
Energy Safety Canada Tickets 
  • Fall Arrest an asset
  • Confined Space an asset 
  • Aerial Work Platform an asset 

Physical Requirements 

  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, working outside in all kinds of weather 
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time 
  • Ability to lift to 25kg 
  • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly 
  • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
