Job Description

On behalf of our valued public sector clients, Altis Technology is seeking an experienced Power BI Specialist for a contract opportunity with our clients based on Halifax, NS. In this role, you will provide guidance on best practices for governance processes, develop a sample executive dashboard, and assist with training components for Microsoft Power BI use.

This role will be remote however, some meetings will be required at the client's office in Halifax, NS. 

The contract is expected to begin in January 2024 and will run until March 15, 2024 with the possibility of extension.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Participate in business analysis activities to understand required high-level reporting and dashboard requirements
• Define and document setup and configuration parameters for executive dashboard and reports and other business unit reports based on data visualization best practices
• Create mocked-up report(s) and dashboard(s) using Power BI data models that aggregate data from multiple sources for proof of concept and demonstration purposes
• Translate business requirements into training specifications for various types of required reports and dashboards
• Participate in the creation of a governance framework for use in determining who has access to what data and when for the purposes of reporting and creating dashboards

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence/data warehouse and data architecture
• 5+ years of experience developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards
• 5+ years of experience data modelling, building reports, dashboards, scorecards using the Microsoft Power BI stack (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS)
• 2+ years of experience working with Power Apps
