Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with our client in the Education sector to support the hiring for an Academic Coordinator. This is a 3 month contract that may have the potential to transition into a permanent opportunity based on business needs and performance within the role. The role is based in Toronto and will require on-site presence 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive administrative and accounting support to senior leadership, playing a key role in both day-to-day operations and broader business functions. This position blends executive support with operational coordination, ensuring seamless internal processes and effective external communication. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, initiative, and a collaborative mindset to foster a positive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive support to senior leadership, including scheduling, correspondence, and project assistance
- Coordinate internal and external communications and liaise with partners and service providers
- Manage bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and electronic funds transfers
- Assist with budget tracking, audit preparation, and financial documentation
- Support planning and logistics for events, meetings, and co-curricular activities
- Oversee office supplies, equipment, and filing systems
- Assist with board communications and preparation of materials
- Welcome and provide guidance to temporary staff and visitors
- Help ensure compliance with organizational procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Previous experience in administrative support, bookkeeping, or business operations in the Education industry.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with financial processes such as accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours
