Job Description

Our client is seeking a Data Analyst to support a national digital initiative focused on personalized career and education pathways. This project involves integrating diverse datasets—from education programs to labour market data—into a web-based tool supporting Canadians in navigating upskilling opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leverage Import.io to perform web scraping across institutional websites, ensuring accurate, dynamic data extraction (AJAX, JavaScript).

• Clean, transform, and merge data using Python, R, or Power Query from structured/unstructured sources (CSV, JSON, Excel).

• Integrate datasets from sources including CICan, ESDC, and Vicinity Jobs, and manage data pipelines feeding into Azure SQL Database.

• Collaborate with developers to support data infrastructure and backend API services; ensure data is ready for front-end delivery and personalization features.

• Document workflows and engage with stakeholders to align evolving data needs with the project roadmap.

Required Skills:

• Strong Python and Power BI proficiency.

• Experience with Import.io, web scraping, and Azure services.

• Familiarity with APIs, data cleaning, and Canada’s post-secondary system.
