Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Senior Accountant for our client in the real estate and construction space. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial reporting tasks, supporting project-level and corporate-level financial operations. This role requires a strong understanding of job costing and full-cycle accounting, and it involves close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

This is a permanent, full-time position based 5 days onsite. Successful candidates MUST HAVE a solid background in project-based accounting environments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily treasury management and monitoring of cash flow
• Reconcile inter-company accounts and ensure accuracy of balances
• Prepare and submit periodic tax filings (e.g., HST returns)
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver timely financial and project cost reports
• Support the preparation and analysis of job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) reports
• Monitor and evaluate gross profit margins across individual projects and portfolios
• Contribute to month-end and year-end financial close processes
• Liaise with auditors and provide necessary financial documentation and support
• Perform general accounting functions and assist junior team members as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a project-based or real estate/construction environment
• Hands-on experience with Yardi is required
• Experience with job costing and multi-project financial tracking
• CPA designation or in progress is an asset
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and financial systems
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
