We are working with a Federal Government client seeking a Bilingual Level 2, Help Desk Specialist to join their team onsite in Vancouver, BC for a 1-year contract!
Roles and Responsibilities
The Help Desk Specialist Level 2 will perform, but not be limited to the following tasks:
- Input data into the departmental incident and problem tracking systems on the evolution of assigned incidents;
- Provide technical expertise and advice to IT Service Desk and Desktop Support Junior level resources;
- Prepare and install user desktop computer for office use in accordance with departmental standards;
- Prepare and install user laptop or tablet office use or for users with teleworking agreements or during “work at home conditions” in accordance with departmental standards;
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software at the user workstation or remotely;
- Roll out of new/updated software on workstations or remotely;
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot operating systems at the user workstation;
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop connectivity;
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot computer components to resolve issues with network cables, RAM, video cards, etc.:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network printers
- Prepare and troubleshoot Smartphones;
- Monitor the IT Service Desk's telephone systems; and
- Contact clients to follow-up on completed calls and to determine level of user satisfaction based on follow-up questionnaire.
Qualifications and Skills
- bilingual in French & English.
- hold a valid Secret Security Clearance or eligible to apply.
- a minimum of five (5) years professional work experience within the last nine (9) years working as a help desk specialist providing IT user support in MS Windows 7 or later operating systems.
- a minimum of one (1) year professional work experience within the last five (5) years as a help desk specialist providing IT user support in a MS Windows Server LAN environment.
- a minimum of two (2) years professional work experience within the last eight (8) years as a Help desk specialist providing IT user support for personal computer workstations and peripherals such as printers, iOS/Android smartphones, scanners, monitors, etc.
