Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven HR/Payroll IT Lead to manage and support our Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, for a 6 month remote contract. This role requires a combination of strong technical proficiency, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills to ensure system stability, timely project delivery, and data integrity. The successful candidate will be responsible for system development, integration, upgrades, and ongoing support across all HCM modules in alignment with organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the HCM IT support team, providing technical direction, assigning tasks, and managing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Act as the ERP subject matter expert and ensure the system is fully integrated with Finance, external vendors, financial institutions, and government systems.

  • Collaborate closely with Network Services, end users, HR/payroll stakeholders, and management to ensure system needs are met and properly executed.

  • Lead and participate in the development and deployment of new functionality, enhancements, system upgrades, and Go-Live migrations.

  • Write and maintain professional-level application code to support customizations, interfaces, and reporting needs.

  • Create and deliver ad hoc and scheduled reports for HR, payroll, and senior management using appropriate reporting tools.

  • Identify and mitigate scope creep in projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and ensure strict data security standards are followed at all times.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.

  • Deliver clear and effective verbal and written communication, including presentations and technical documentation.

  • Provide mentorship and support to team members, recognizing when additional training or assistance is required.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of IT experience supporting enterprise ERP systems, preferably Lawson HCM.

  • 5+ years of experience leading IT teams, managing cross-functional collaborations, and delivering enterprise projects.

  • Strong development experience, including coding, testing, and deployment of ERP applications.

  • Deep technical understanding of HCM components and how they interact with payroll, benefits, time tracking, finance, and external entities.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to track milestones and manage project risks.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences including technical staff and senior management.

  • Skilled in ad hoc reporting and data extraction using tools such as SQL, Crystal Reports, or Lawson-specific reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and a strong understanding of data privacy and security practices.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Infor/Lawson CloudSuite HCM.

  • Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Certifications in Project Management, HRIS, or ERP systems.
