Position Title: Logistics Leader
Location: North York, ON
Our client, a well-established manufacturer based in the North York area, is seeking a Logistics Leader to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a logistics professional with experience in shipment coordination, transportation management, and SAP systems, who is looking to step into a key role with a reputable and stable organization.
As the Logistics Leader, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient processing of outbound deliveries and shipments. Working closely with warehouse teams and external carriers, you'll be responsible for managing on-time pick-ups, tracking time-sensitive shipments, and ensuring accurate documentation in SAP. The role also involves collaborating with multiple departments, managing returns, and resolving freight-related claims and issues.
Create and process deliveries and shipments in SAP for both DIY and non-DIY customers.
Coordinate daily with the warehouse and transportation partners to ensure shipments are picked up and delivered on schedule.
Maintain and update vendor shipment portals and internal logs.
Track all shipments daily and provide relevant updates to stakeholders.
Coordinate carrier-related returns and manage the Return Authorization process.
Investigate and resolve overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D), in partnership with the Canadian and U.S. finance teams.
Prepare and distribute monthly reports including on-time delivery metrics and non-compliance tracking.
Provide freight quotes as needed and maintain freight rate tools.
Monitor open orders and reconcile SAP data with warehouse activity.
High school diploma required; a post-secondary diploma or certification in logistics or supply chain is considered an asset.
3–5 years of experience in logistics, shipping coordination, or distribution, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Proficiency in SAP/S4Hana preferred; experience with TMS and Microsoft Excel required.
Solid understanding of freight terms (FOB), LTL classifications, and claims management.
Ability to interpret routing guides and shipping documentation.
Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and a team-oriented approach.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with multiple deadlines.
Occasional lifting of boxes up to 40 lbs may be required.
Strong reasoning and mathematical skills needed for load planning and freight bill auditing.
