Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and collaborative HR Business Partner to join our client's team in Victoria. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees across various business units, providing guidance on all aspects of human resources.
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension or permanency. The role follows a hybrid work model, with two days per week on-site at our client’s Victoria office and three days working from home.
Responsibilities:
- Provide HR support to professional employee groups across various locations in Canada.
- Advise and coach managers on leadership development, talent and performance management, change initiatives, employee engagement, and effective communication.
- Develop and implement key HR programs such as onboarding, engagement, performance management, and compensation.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on recruitment strategies and workforce planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies; conduct investigations and maintain accurate records.
- Leverage HR data and collaborate with the HR team to enhance service delivery and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience working in unionized environments is an asset.
- Proven experience delivering HR solutions and support to professional and managerial client groups.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and best practices in human resources management.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
