Our federal government client is seeking a
Records Management Clerk to work on contract supporting their Data and Information Management team with record services objectives.
Contract: 6 monthsLocation: full-time onsite, Calgary, ABLanguage: English essentialClearance: Reliability levelTasks:- Develop Archival Finding Aids: Prepare detailed document descriptions and reference tools such as indexes, guides, bibliographies, abstracts, and microform versions to enhance accessibility and usability of archived materials.
- Process Work: Generate and refine process maps to support the development and continuous improvement of records management and archival procedures.
- Catalog and Index Information Assets: Systematically organize, classify, and index both physical and digital records to facilitate efficient retrieval and long-term access.
- Preservation and Conservation: Ensure the appropriate handling, storage, and preservation of materials to prevent physical deterioration and ensure longevity.
- Data Management and System Updates: Perform accurate data entry into records management systems and Excel-based tracking logs to maintain current and comprehensive inventory records.
- Information Analysis and Problem Solving: Apply critical reading and comprehension skills to assess content, identify organizational needs, and exercise sound judgment in the arrangement and classification of information.
- Quality Control and Document Review: Conduct thorough proofreading and content reviews to ensure documents meet standards for formatting, spelling, grammar, and compliance with organizational guidelines.
Qualifications:- A diploma or relative experience in Archives, Library, or Information Science Degree or Records Management.
- Theories, principles, methods, and practices of all areas within information management including records management, document management, IM security, IM systems and applications, data systems and tools, reporting and IM governance and standards.
- Information Security best practices, exposures, and mitigating techniques.
- Principles and practices of IM research and ability to recognize errors, use judgement and problem solving and records disposition methods.
- Knowledge of GoC/Shared Services Legislation, regulations, standards, and Government policies would be considered a strong asset.
