Job Description

The lead will manage a multidisciplinary data migration/conversion team and execute the data plan to deliver on all data migration/conversion requirements. This requires migrating data from our current client's retail system, Jesta, to Oracle retail.

Working with the project team, Enterprise Data Management, and IT, the Lead will ensure that all data conversion efforts are successful within the project timelines and budget.

The Data Conversion Lead will be responsible for:

  • As a part of the project team, accountable for all data conversion efforts
  • Owning and managing our client's data migration scope, strategy and execution plan
  • Being a single point of contact for our client's and the vendor for all data conversion activities
  • Based on vendor specifications, extracting data from the legacy application
  • Validating data extracts for accuracy and completeness
  • Leading data profiling, cleansing, and preparation of legacy data to ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Coordinating with business SMEs, process owners, and stewards for data definitions, enrichment, and sign-offs
  • Liaising with the Information Services Division and Enterprise Data Management team to ensure that best practices and standards are followed during the conversion process
  • Identify inherent data risks and implement controls and procedures to mitigate them

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Over 10 years of experience in data management, data conversion, mapping, and transformation projects, preferably in the retail domain
  • Legacy and modern retail systems and services, in-depth knowledge of retail Data Domain
  • ETL tools
  • Data mapping, data management, transformation, and validation practices
  • Strong MS SQL scripting
  • Strong hands-on technical skills in data extraction and validation
  • Experience in performing data leadership roles in SaaS retail implementations, such as Oracle or SAP etc., is highly desirable
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and coordinating with vendors and system integrators.
  • People management skills
