We are working on a Federal Government client seeking a Senior Web Developer to join their team for a part-time, remote contract until March 2026.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Project coordination: Participate in kickoff and planning meetings to align on program objectives and deliverables.
- Technical analysis: Gather requirements and review documentation to inform content structure and functionality.
- Web development: Build and integrate web components (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Drupal/other CMS) in line with GC web standards.
- Testing and QA: Conduct functional and accessibility testing to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 and provide an optimal user experience.
- Deployment management: Oversee staging and production releases for program content, ensuring security and accuracy.
- Ongoing support: Provide maintenance, updates, and improvements for live program pages and tools.
- Performance optimization: Enhance speed, scalability, and security of program-related digital assets.
- Estimates and response standards: Deliver time and effort estimates within one business day; meet defined service levels for response, delivery, and revisions.
Qualifications and Skills
The Contractor must have a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in:
- Delivering front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a content management system (e.g., Drupal).
- Creating responsive, user-friendly, and accessible web pages that meet business and client needs.
- Ensuring web content complies with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, CAN/ASC - EN 301 549:2024 Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services (EN 301 549:2021, IDT).
