Our client, a leading organization within Canada's transportation infrastructure sector, is seeking a fluently bilingual Communications Coordinator to support and enhance its brand through strategic communications, media outreach, and meaningful community engagement initiatives.

This exciting on-site role is ideal for a results-driven communicator with a strong track record of leading integrated campaigns that shape public perception, inspire action, and deliver measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of compelling communication materials, including newsletters, press releases, and digital content.
  • Plan and support events such as press conferences, promotional events, annual public meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing corporate communication strategies.
  • Develop engaging, platform-optimized content for social media channels, while also contributing to internal blogs and broader digital storytelling efforts.
  • Support the organization’s lead spokesperson by managing media relations, drafting press releases and statements, and coordinating interview requests.
  • Oversee the organization's web inquiry program, ensuring timely responses and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate on-site filming requests and activities and maintain a library of photographic assets.
  • Lead meaningful community outreach programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain the organization's intranet site.
  • Cultivate relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Support translation needs, including proofreading and coordinating document translations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to official languages.
  • Provide additional departmental support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of proven experience supporting high-impact strategic communications, marketing, and public relations programs, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Advanced verbal, writing, editing and proofreading skills in both official languages (English and French)
  • University degree or college diploma in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience crafting engaging digital content and leading social media campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing tools such as Campaigner, WordPress, and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with web design and HTML is a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and critical thinking in media relations and crisis communication.
  • A valid Class G driver’s license and the ability to successfully obtain a security clearance check is required.
