Our client, a leading financial services and wealth management firm, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Investment Associate in Ottawa.

In this high-impact position, you will support a team of Portfolio Managers and help deliver high-quality, compliant, and personalized advisory experiences to clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong trust-based relationships with clients, serving as a key point of contact.
  • Participate in client meetings to support data gathering for KYC updates, financial planning, and investment reviews.
  • Execute trade instructions from Portfolio Managers in accordance with CIRO compliance standards.
  • Prepare customized meeting materials and account updates, including portfolio summaries, performance reports, and planning documents.
  • Contribute to the development of financial proposals, client insights, and performance summaries.
  • Conduct and document 90-day client contact calls in compliance with CIRO and KYC requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Support process improvement and contribute to operational best practices.
  • Assist with planning and execution of client engagement events, including seminars and seasonal functions, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in the financial services or wealth management industry.
  • Must be currently licensed as an Investment Representative (IR) under CIRO (formerly IIROC).
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems and compliance frameworks in the wealth management field.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced financial advisory environment, managing client needs and organizational priorities with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Exceptional client service skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly team-oriented, adaptable, organized, and collaborative.
