Altis is grateful to partner with our client in the Broader Public Sector to recruit a Senior Disability Management Consultant. This role focuses on managing disability cases and helping shape workplace health programs, including short- and long-term disability and fitness-for-duty initiatives. This is a contract opportunity with a hybrid work model based out of Toronto

Responsibilities

  • Manage disability case files (STD, LTD, Fit for Duty), including eligibility reviews, coordination with stakeholders, and compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Oversee return-to-work plans, accommodations, and modified duties in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers, third-party vendors, and legal teams to support claims, appeals, and grievances.
  • Ensure confidentiality of medical information and promote consistent, fair application of wellness policies.
  • Track trends, analyze data, and contribute to continuous improvement of Health & Wellness programs.

Requirements
  • Educational background in healthcare, disability management, nursing, or a related field
  • Experience handling leave and accommodation cases (unionized setting a plus)
  • Strong understanding of privacy, human rights, and workplace legislation
  • Confident handling sensitive medical information and complex cases
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
