Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Amazon Athena, Glue, Lambda, DMS, RDS, Redshift, CloudFormation, and other AWS serverless technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data architecture and ETL pipelines in a cloud environment. You will play a key role in optimizing data models for performance and ensuring the availability and integrity of data for analysis, reporting, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Python.
• Utilize Athena and Redshift for querying large datasets and supporting data analysis and reporting initiatives.
• Build and optimize data models for high performance and scalability across various AWS services.
• Implement and manage data migration and replication using AWS DMS, RDS, and related tools.
• Create and manage infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation for reproducible and automated deployments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and other technical teams to gather requirements and design end-to-end data solutions.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts to support business reporting needs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data pipelines and system performance.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security in accordance with industry standards and internal policies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or a similar role.
• Strong expertise in AWS data services, including: Athena, Glue, Lambda, DMS, RDS, Redshift and CloudFormation
• Proficient in Python for scripting and data processing tasks.
• Deep understanding of SQL and experience writing complex queries for analysis and reporting.
• Proven experience designing serverless architectures and optimizing data storage for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, and data warehouse best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles for cloud-based data pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
