Job Title: Senior Network Administrator
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Network Administrator to support a large enterprise IT environment across 10+ locations in Ontario. This role is well-suited for a seasoned professional looking for stability, and wanting to contribute meaningfully to a large-scale, established infrastructure.
You will be responsible for deploying and maintaining enterprise-grade networking solutions while working closely with IT operations and DevOps teams in a dynamic yet low-intensity setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and deploy over 300 Cisco switches across multiple sites.
- Perform network configuration clean-up to ensure uniformity and efficiency enterprise-wide.
- Work with networking technologies such as wireless bridges, Layer 3 to Layer 2 transitions, port mappings, LACP, and port channels.
- Assist in identity management processes and conduct firewall policy reviews.
- Provide post-implementation support for Microsoft Teams telephony rollout.
- Collaborate with an operations team of 5 and a DevOps team of over 24, supporting a team of 30 overall.
- Respond to and resolve end-user tickets in a high-volume support environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of hands-on network administration experience in large, multi-site enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing, architecting, and deploying high-availability, redundant network infrastructures.
- Strong technical expertise with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless Access Points.
- In-depth knowledge of the OSI reference model and network protocols.
- Familiarity with Microsoft licensing, identity management, and enterprise infrastructure ecosystems.
- Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ICSM) and enterprise-grade IT operations.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams telephony or VoIP solutions.
- Familiarity with Cisco’s ecosystem and fabric networking strategies.
- Experience in public sector, unionized or higher education environments is highly preferred.
Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – preferred.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) with strong enterprise experience will be considered.
- CCIE Security is a strong asset but not mandatory.
