We are working on a Federal Government seeking a System Administrator to join their team onsite in Ottawa for a 1-year contract!
Roles and Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, configure and maintain core system hardware components which include the following:
- Servers;
- Network storage appliances;
- Routers;
- Switches;
- Firewalls; etc.
- Install, upgrade, configure, backup, and maintain core system software components which include the following:
- System Firmware.
- VMWare VSphere virtualization including ESXi, VCenter and Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Microsoft Server.
- Microsoft Windows.
- Support users by creating user accounts, configuring and assigning user virtual machines, installing user-specific software, and configuring and providing access to file shares.
Qualifications and Skills
- a minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing installation, upgrade, configuration and maintenance of physical hardware on the network.
- a minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing installation, upgrade, configuration, backup, and maintenance of system software on the network.
- a minimum of ten (10) years of experience creating user accounts, configuring and assigning user virtual machines, installing user-specific software and configuring and providing access to file shares.
- a minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing first line troubleshooting support to identify and resolve system and user issues.
