Job Description
Our client, a leading outdoor apparel retailer, is seeking a contract Brand Post Production Manager to join their team on a temporary, paternity leave coverage basis. This role requires on-site work at the client's office in North Vancouver. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
The Brand Post-Production Manager plans and manages the workflow and execution of all photo/video post-production projects and deliverables. They are responsible for resourcing internal and external post-production teams, compiling deliverables lists, managing timelines, asset management, and project delivery communications. This role works closely with the production, operations and creative teams as well as regional teams and cross-functional partners across the business.
The Brand Operations team is a collaborative group of Producers, Operators and Project Managers who are responsible for defining and evolving processes, and leading workflow and the end-to-end production of ecommerce content, brand and product campaigns and projects. You will work in close partnership with the client's Brand Creative teams. This team leads the creation of best-in-class photo and video content to populate their global channels.
Responsibilities:- Lead, mentor and manage a team of post-production coordinators (Contractor or Internal) to foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Develop and oversee post-production workflows, ensuring efficient processes
- Manage the post-production calendar, monitoring progress and adjusting schedules as necessary to meet all projects' deadlines and deliveries
- Work with the Production and Project Managers to build detailed post-production plans that capture all project deliverables, timelines and resource assignments
- Coordinate resources and manage priorities across multiple projects in collaboration with Photo & Video team leads.
- Manage relationships, contracts and project timelines with external agencies, production partners and freelancers including sound mixing, colour editing and music licensing
- Facilitate clear communication and collaboration among all teams (internal & external) involved in the post-production process.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the post-production team and other departments.
- Alongside the Project Managers, provide regular updates on project status to project owners
- Manage department Tech Stack for existing and new post-production tools including roll-out and exploration
- Ensure file management infrastructure (folder structure, naming conventions, tags, access management) is maintained.
- Manage and resource photo library archive mining and DAM migration support projects
- Compile and maintain manuals and training tools for on-boarding new team members and external partners to ensure that Brand Post-Production Standards are adhered to.
- Forecast the need and manage the accrual of appropriate legal documents such as photo license renewals, talent, voice overs, video footage and music usage rights/licensing
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years related experience in post-production management
- Extensive knowledge of post-production processes, including editing, sound design, color correction, and visual effects.
- Deep understanding of photo and video formats and editing processes
- Knowledge and confidence in process timelines and projections
- Proficiency in project management and resource tracking systems
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Resourceful with strong creative problem-solving skills
- Superior and clear communicator - both written and verbal and ability to build good relationships with stakeholders and team members
- Ability to work under pressure while prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Experience with Digital Asset Management systems
- Experience delivering technical training and support
