Job Description

Our client in the insurance industry, is seeking a Bilingual HR & Administration Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a range of administrative and support functions within the HR department. You will also assist the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and the Administration team as needed. With a strong focus on compensation, pension, and benefits, the ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in these areas and play a key role in enhancing and managing the company’s compensation and benefits strategies.

 

This is a 12-month maternity leave contract with the possibility of extension. The position is primarily remote, with the excpetion of 2 days per month onsite in either their Downtown or Scarbarough office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Handle new hire and benefits change requests.
  • Process employee terminations.
  • Respond to benefits-related employee questions.
  • Request pension calculations and assist with benefit info sessions.
  • Maintain vacation records and assist with the Service Award Program.
  • Assist with retiree benefits, leave of absence, and health & safety issues.
  • Liaise with benefit providers for resolution.
  • Provide support to the SVP, Human Resources.
  • Assist with mailroom duties, reception, and office management.
  • Contribute to department projects and conduct HR-related research.
  • Ensure accurate data in HRIS and employee files.
  • Maintain records in benefit provider portals.
  • Managers at all levels, employees within IBC
  • Third-party benefit providers, retirees, and employees from other supported organizations

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in HR or related field.
  • Bilingual in French and English required.
  • 3 years of HR experience; 3 years in benefits preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR data management.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word (formulas, charts, mail merge, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong analytical, systems, and process skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Collaborative team player.
