Job Description

Reporting to the AVP of IT Applications and Quality Assurance, the Product Owner plays a key role in managing the backlog of tasks for an application or application ecosystem. This position requires working closely with Agile development teams and stakeholders to define, prioritize, and refine the product backlog, ensuring smooth planning, scheduling, and release of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders.
• Maintain a well-prepared backlog, ensuring the team always has work aligned with priorities.
• Define and manage product vision, roadmap, and strategic growth opportunities.
• Assess value, prioritize epics, stories, and themes to maximize product impact.
• Collaborate with business and IT teams to maintain a backlog aligned with business objectives.
• Plan and coordinate product releases while setting expectations for new functionalities.
• Identify and address any roadblocks affecting team progress toward release and sprint goals.
• Conduct market research and stay informed about industry trends and competitors.
• Stay up to date on Agile/Scrum best practices and new methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with policies and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) requirements, when applicable.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Post-secondary education in a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner in an IT space.
• Strong knowledge of Agile principles and methodologies.
• Experience with data modeling is a plus.
• Microsoft shop environment 
• Strong analytical and business acumen.

• Mortgage or financial services industry experience
